Now a days the term 3G is very common to us. But still most of us do not know what 3G is and what are the benefits of connecting through 3G. 3G is the current and latest trend in mobile technology and is rapidly growing because there are a lot of advantages compared to the 2.5G technology which was used earlier. Basically 3G means third generation. 3G offers faster data connectivity which means that downloading of data and internet surfing will be very fast due to high speed. This is because as there is a huge improvement in the bit rate compared to 2.5G technology. Wired connectivity is outdated now a days and 3G satisfies the need of higher data rate transfers, faster wireless internet connectivity and appropriate and efficient utilization of common Radio frequency. 3G offers video streaming on mobile phones without any data interruption. Compared to 2.5G, 3G explores the feature of multimedia messaging facility.

Now the service providers like Docomo, Reliance etc offers the 3G connectivity in all the metro cities in India and soon we can find their network expansion in villages and remote areas. The plus point on charges is that each user will be charged based on the volume of data transmitted through the device and is irrespective of how much time the consumers are online. This feature of 3G will have a huge impact on the consumers. Even though third generation packet based network offers continuous online status to the consumer, charges will be applicable only for the information they are availing. 3G services offer better speed for many of the services like picture messages, internet surfing etc. 3G network doesn’t have much impact on normal mobile phone calls or text messages, but if the consumer wants to send or receive huge picture messages or do video transfer, it is highly useful.

For the high-end mobile handsets like Nokia C6 or other models with a web browser, the 3G networks make much difference in speed. Third generation services have changed the lifestyle of the consumers as the consumers can use many services and features which they can’t even think of earlier. It is clear from the recent high demand for the mobiles phones from different manufactures recently that 3G has captured the heart of every consumer. The cost of 3G handsets are almost comparable to 2.5G sets. This attracts the middle class consumers also to the 3G series. Even most of the manufacturers are offering discounts on the MRP of their 3G models. This kind of handsets enabled with 3G helps each individual to send or receive data irrespective of time and location and assist to explore the features of wireless data transfer. The main advantage is that even at faster connection speeds, the consumer can enjoy high quality music without any disturbance. It makes the video calling easy because of the faster connectivity. It allows the consumer to communicate with their beloved ones and friends through video calling across the globe. This technology helps the consumer to utilize their mobile phones to perform operations which they can do using a computer. It is also a cheaper replacement in that respect when compared to a computer. It can download a huge size of files and video clippings and is a great help to the consumer as now a days we have to depend on internet for all these facilities. Flashing the latest information is one of the other beautiful features of the 3G technology, which means the user will be updated frequently about the latest news as well as headlines, weather reports, stock prices, sports related information etc. There are other facilities also, for example, the user will be able to fetch the up to date cricket score of a cricket tournament or the score boards of next the common wealth games. The 3G permits the user to view the clipping of movies or songs with very good clarity which was not supported by 2.5G versions of network. The data transmission speed of 3G is up to 2 megabytes per second when the user is in fixed location, which means that when the user is not in travelling and also 3G provides a high end connectivity with greater noise resistance. You can enable the 3G facility in any mobile phone which can support the 3G technology. Many famous mobile phone brands have already introduced such phones. It is clear that the youth in India is moving towards third generation technologies and are eagerly waiting for the introduction of Fourth Generation which may offer so many other wonderful features.
